English Channel in December

A trip to the sea has a little different meaning in England than in Greece. Here we are at Beachy Head and Seven Sisters.
Some American boy left his mark on the bridge (written in chalk)

Yes, it was a little chilly.

  1. Are the cliffs shown in the beachy head shots the "White Cliffs of Dover?"
    Great shots, by the way!

  2. Hey Betty. These are of the same line of cliffs, but they are several miles west of Dover. Much of the coastline has these white rock formations. You can even see these white hills further inland, even where we live, 35 miles from the coast. I understand that this chalky rock is what is under most of the English Channel. It is easy to dig through, but it doea not allow water to pass through, which is one reason they could put a tunnel under the channel.
